Clarification on Censys Credit Packages and API Usage

Hi

Does each API call count as one credit, or does the credit consumption depend on the type of request?

For example, if we perform a domain search (to enumerate subdomains), would that request consume one credit per search, or more depending on the results returned?

Thanks

Hi there.

For Censys Platform Starter plan users, API endpoint costs are described here.

For users on a Censys Platform Enterprise plan, most API endpoints cost one credit. However, there are some, like Live Rescan, that cost more than 1 credit each. More info on API costs for Enterprise plan users is available here.

In your example, the cost would differ depending on the plan level of the user.

For a Starter user, the first page of up to 100 search results would consume 5 credits (assuming that the user input a standard query). Each additional page of up to 100 results past the first would cost 5 credits.

For an Enterprise user, the first page of up to 100 search results would consume 1 credit. Each additional page of up to 100 results past the first would cost 1 credit.

Let me know if that helps.

Hi Mattk

Thanks for your reply. actually We are considering purchasing the 2,500 credits package and would like to clarify how credits are consumed when using the Censys API. so the link that you sent above is also valid for 2,500 credit package for our team’s use.

Thanks

@Fort1 That’s correct. If you purchase the 2,500 credit package via the Censys Platform web console, then your account will be upgraded to a Starter plan and the API costs described in the first doc I linked will apply.
